Atlantic Beach Shared Experiences of Segregation in Recreational Historic Places
STARD (Supporters for Tyson’s Ancestral Restriction on the Deeds) has a destination experience planned to support its fundraising mission. The day consists of sharing experiences as a means of preserving cultural identity through histories and stories. We will focus on highlighting the shared experiences of our town of Atlantic Beach, SC, and the Cherokee State Historical Park in Aurora, Kentucky. While the circumstances may differ, the central issue remains the same—the preservation of these historic Black spaces.
